Mean

Mean にはいろんな意味があって

「本気で言っている」という意味もあります。

(Man)           You are beautiful.

(Woman)      You're not just saying that?

= Are you only saying that to be polite?

(Man)           No, definitely not. I mean it.

のような感じで使えるようです。
